Can I just say that this picture angers me so much, it is completely unfair. Marilyn died fifty years ago, the majority of her fans weren’t even alive when she died. I know it’s the totally wonderful and cool opinion now to write this on pictures of recently deceased celebrities - which is, too, disrespectful, but I think it’s actually preposterous to do it here. What are people expected to do? Oh, well I wasn’t born when Marilyn was around so I better not care about her or else I’m a phoney. It’s unfair, and I know that one may argue that there were people around Marilyn who could have tried do something to help and then ‘cared’ about her after her death but there were also people - like Joe DiMaggio, who cared for her when she was alive and it’s completely unfair to write everyone off with such a lovely quote that someone somewhere hoped would get a lot of notes. So disrespectful, rude and unfair.
